Creating carbon-negative cement requires a new approach to an antiquated system. Brimstone has invented a way to make carbon negative Portland cement that is identical to conventional cement and lower in cost. Utilizing calcium-silicate rock instead of limestone, the company uses a unique process to produce Portland cement clinker and supplementary cementitious materials in a way that allows it to permanently sequester the CO2 produced in the process.
