##### PROBLEM FOCUS

Peak demands of electrified HVAC overwhelm the grid. A lack of safe, affordable, responsive thermal energy storage solutions drive high HVAC energy costs and destabilize the grid, especially when heat pump efficiency and capacity cannot keep people safe and comfortable during extreme weather.

##### TECHNOLOGY SOLUTION

With support from U.S. DOE and EPRI, MicroEra Power has developed THERMAplus, a tunable thermal energy storage system. The system stores off-peak or renewable-intensive electricity as heat or cooling and deploys at times of high demand, reducing peak demand and energy cost. The patented tech includes phase change materials, hardware designs, and smart controls. Tunability is a key differentiator for delivering stored heating and cooling at a range of temperatures within one compact footprint.
