To mitigate the potential for catastrophic climate change, switching to a carbon-neutral economy is not enough. It will require technologies such as DAC for large-scale deployment of carbon dioxide removal measures.
Mission Zero Technologies Ltd is developing a new chemistry to enable energy-efficient, decentralised, and low-cost direct air capture (DAC) of carbon dioxide emissions. Through this they can remediate both legacy and present emissions. Their process operates at ambient conditions and consumes less energy than amine- and hydroxide-based systems used most commonly today. This reduces cost and allows for the production of green CO2 critical to CCUS applications.
