Atmospheric carbon dioxide stands as the primary driver of climate change. While Direct Air Capture offers a scalable, measurable, and permanent method of removing CO2 from the atmosphere, its widespread adoption is inherently constrained by high energy requirements.
TECHNOLOGY SOLUTION
As the Global South’s first direct air capture company, Octavia develops a low-temperature swing DAC process that utilizes low-grade heat to remove CO2 from the atmosphere. Octavia is leveraging Kenya's abundant geothermal waste heat to address DAC's energy requirements and reduce associated costs. Their low-cost manufacturing base further empowers Octavia to scale their DAC technology and drive DAC down the cost curve.
